Dr. Ugwu, DVM

Dr. Ugwu, developed his love for animals as a child growing up in Africa and has known he would be a veterinarian since he was 7 years old. He followed his dreams and graduated from the University of Nigeria in 1995, where he earned his doctorate in veterinary medicine. He is a member of the American veterinary medical association and California veterinary medical association.

He practiced small animal medicine at several veterinary hospitals in Southern California before moving to Northern California 2016. A true advocate for your pet, he treats them as if they are his own.

His areas of professional interest include internal medicine, Geriatric care, surgery, dentistry and orthopedics.

Dr. Ugwu enjoys spending time with his family which include his wife, 2 children and a cocker spaniel, Papi. His hobbies include Photography, biking ,drawing, movies and soccer.

Dr. Thalia Rashid

Dr. Thalia Rashid was born and raised in Ottawa, Canada. She attended the University of Ottawa where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and afterwards moved to Guelph, Ontario, where she received a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2018. She has experience working as a veterinarian in Halifax, Nova scotia and has spent time working in shelter medicine in South East Asia, Rural American veterinary services (RAVs) and Humane Alliance.

Dr. Rashid’s interest lay in surgery, dermatology, internal medicine, and shelter medicine. She is a member of both the AVMA and CVMA.

On a personal level, Dr. Rashid enjoys fitness, being outdoors, traveling and spending time with her family and her dog Dixie.
